Italy midfielder Marco Verratti claims it’d be “a step back” in his career if he left PSG for Juventus now.
The 21-year-old has never actually played in Serie A, as he was poached by Paris Saint-Germain straight after he helped Pescara earn promotion.
“When I was a child I loved the Bianconeri, but today I am happy in Paris,” he told L’Equipe newspaper.
“After all, PSG have one of the greatest projects in the world. If I were to go to Juventus now, it would without doubt be a step back.
“In Paris I have the possibility to win everything over the next few years.”
The French club paid €12m to sign Verratti from Pescara in July 2012, when he was only 19 years old.
