Marco Verratti and Lorenzo Insigne are fit to face Armenia on Tuesday, but questions remain over Mario Balotelli.

The Italy squad returned to the Coverciano training ground near Florence after last night’s 2-2 draw in Denmark.

“Verratti and Insigne have recovered and fortunately they took part in training today,” explained Professor Enrico Castellacci.

Giuseppe Rossi also trained after missing the game in Copenhagen and could well start against Armenia at the Stadio San Paolo on Tuesday evening.

Balotelli was not even in the stands yesterday due to flu symptoms and he only jogged around the ground twice before going back into the locker room.

“The player will stay with us,” added Castellacci. “It’s impossible right now to say what his chances are of playing on Tuesday.

“It is encouraging that he returned to training after five days out, but he is debilitated by gastroenteritis. We will evaluate his condition day by day.”
