Marco Verratti’s agent assured he’s in contention for a World Cup spot and commented on Arsenal reports.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is not included in Cesare Prandelli’s list of players for fitness tests today and tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean he’s off the radar.

“Let’s not be ridiculous,” Donato Di Campli told calcionews24.com. “We all knew the players outside of Serie A wouldn’t attend these tests, as Thiago Motta and Salvatore Sirigu aren’t there either.

“We all know the quality of the player and how much Prandelli respects him, as the Coach gave Verratti his senior Italy debut.”

Verratti is on track to win Ligue 1 with PSG, but they were eliminated from the Champions League by Chelsea.

Di Campli was also asked about rumours in the British media that Arsenal are prepared to make an offer for the 21-year-old.

“I am not aware of any interest. Marco is happy at PSG.”
