Verona are reportedly considering former Borussia Monchengladbach Coach Lucien Favre as an alternative to Eugenio Corini.

The Butei sacked long-serving tactician Andrea Mandorlini yesterday, following a disastrous start to the season which sees them in December without a single win to their name.

Former Chievo Coach Corini is widely expected to be Mandorlini’s replacement, but Gianluca Di Marzio reports an alternative solution.

Swiss Coach Lucien Favre is a free agent after resigning from Gladbach in September, and Di Marzio’s site reports that there has been contact from Verona.

Favre took Gladbach from the bottom of the Bundesliga to the Champions League during his four-and-a-half seasons in charge.

However, Di Marzio site reports that Corini is still the number-one choice to replace Mandorlini, with Favre seen strictly as an alternative.
