Jordan Veretout assures he is ‘very happy’ to be a Fiorentina player and remembers Davide Astori, who ‘isn’t replaceable’.
Veretout has yet to make an appearance for Fiorentina this season due to a three-match ban, but the midfielder is free to begin his campaign on Saturday, when the Viola travel to Napoli.
“Astori? He was a true leader,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He spoke like a leader, acted like a leader and thought like a leader. Davide had something more, he was different.

“Now his role has been picked up Pezzella, but Davide isn’t replaceable. Europe? We missed it by not very much last year and we were very disappointed to stay out of it.
“Now we’re working every day to achieve that objective because Fiorentina are a great team and must stay in Europe.
“Offers close to 30m for me? It’s not important to think about these things right now. The market is behind me, I’m a Fiorentina player and I’m very happy to be one.”
