Bologna resumed training today and Coach Roberto Donadoni got into a discussion with angry fans ahead of Simone Verdi’s move to Napoli.

The transfer is expected to go through over the next couple of days, perhaps even on Monday, for around €20m.

Serie A has been on its Winter break, so the squad only came together to resume training today.

It’s reported that some angry fans were protesting, urging Bologna not to sell their free kick specialist.

At one point, Coach Donadoni turned to the fans and said: “Do you really think I’m happy if the best player we’ve got is leaving?”

Verdi had been hesitant to accept the Napoli switch mid-season, fearing he’ll be left on the bench, but appears to have made the decision.
