Torino Coach Giampiero Ventura criticised his team for “being spectators to the Napoli show” in the first half.

The Granata got back into the game, but were beaten 2-1 on home turf by Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon goals.

“If Napoli are second in the table, it means they have superior quality to us, but that doesn’t excuse the first half performance,” Ventura told Mediaset Premium.

“If Napoli are second in the table, it means they have superior quality to us, but that doesn’t excuse the first half performance,” Ventura told Mediaset Premium.

“I don’t know if it was anxiety or fear, but we were completely passive. We were basically spectators to the Napoli show.

“It was an evening I hoped would be different for my players. You lose in football, but mustn’t have the regret of not giving it your all and our first half is one of regret.

“We’ve got many young players in the side and perhaps they failed to realise the importance of the match. Pontus Jansson was struggling with Higuain early on, but after the break he only let him get one shot away from distance, so that means he’s got potential.”
