The Portuguese international will face the Viola with Dynamo Kiev, and is under no illusions about how tough the tie will be.

“I don’t know if Fiorentina are the toughest team we could play in the Europa League, but they’re a very good team.

“We know all about Fiorentina, it’s a big club with a lot of great players. I played in Italy for two years and the Viola were always difficult to beat.

“I’ll meet my former teammate [Alberto] Gilardino, it’ll be good to see him.

“[Coach Vincenzo] Montella’s style of football is beautiful and very hard to stop. Anyone can score, not just the forwards.

“If we look at individuals, [Mohamed] Salah is doing extraordinary things. It’s unbelievable that he’s fitted so well into Montella’s plans after arriving in January.

“We’re in the Quarter Finals, we want to win a trophy. We’ll have the ability to get to the end, we’ll see.”
