La Repubblica has reported today that the Premier League club will return to the Biancocelesti for Anderson, after failing to open talks with the capital club over the summer.
The newspaper believes that United will make an offer of around €45m for the Brazilian number 10, which will test the Aquile’s stance on refusing to let the winger leave.
However, the paper warns that any deal is dependent on James Rodriguez’s situation in Madrid.
The Colombian is reportedly United’s first choice in the market, although Merengues President Florentino Perez has said the attacking midfielder is not for sale.
Should the Red Devils fail in their negotiations for James, then Anderson is believed to be their ‘Plan B’.
