Sinisa Mihajlovic says it would be “unforgivable” for Milan to fail to reach the Coppa Italia final.

The Rossoneri take on third-tier side Alessandria in a two-legged semi-final, the first match of which is played tomorrow.

“I’m convinced my lads will take it seriously,” Mihajlovic assured in his pre-match Press conference.

“Tomorrow, Alessandria are like a Serie A team for us. It would be the first trophy for most, so that one day when you finish playing you can say that you won something.

“There have been many great players who never won anything, it would be unforgivable to waste the opportunity to reach the final.”

The Diavolo are looking to qualify for Europe this season, is that more likely through League position, or by winning the Coppa?

“Looking at the numbers, I’d say the Coppa Italia, but if you mess up one game you’re out, whereas in the League you can recover.

“We’ll try to get into Europe through both.”

The Serbian tactician was then asked if Luiz Adriano would play tomorrow, following his aborted move to China last week.

“He’s concentrated,” Mihajlovic assured.

“Naturally, although he came back on Thursday and trained well he wasn’t in the right condition, or even the right time zone [to play].

“He’s now had another three days, he’s available and we’ll decide whether or not to play him from the first minute.”
