UEFA have confirmed they will take disciplinary action against Croatia after racist chanting and a banana thrown on to the pitch in their game with Italy.
The Italian FIGC had demanded action after racist chanting was aimed at Mario Balotelli in the 1-1 draw on Thursday.

There were also reports a banana was thrown on to the pitch, while play was repeatedly halted for fireworks hurled from the stands.
“UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) for the setting-off and throwing of fireworks, and the improper conduct of supporters (racist chants, racist symbols) at the UEFA EURO 2012 Group C match against Italy in Poznan on Thursday.
“The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body will deal with the case on 19 June,” read the statement.
The Croatian Federation has also been fined €25,000 for fan behaviour in the opening Group C game with the Republic of Ireland.
