On Monday Udinese announced they had “secured, as of July 1, 2014, the services of midfielder Albert Riera Ortega.”

Today Watford declared they have signed Riera on a short-term contract for the rest of the campaign.

“This transfer is subject to the Hornets receiving international clearance for the player.”

He is effectively on loan at Watford, who are a feeder club for Udinese along with Spanish side Granada.

All three teams are owned by the Pozzo family and players regularly move from one side to the other.
