Udinese have confirmed ‘various clubs showed interest’ in Rodrigo de Paul last month but insisted that ‘we were never close to selling him’.

Inter were most heavily linked with De Paul in January and are being tipped to go back in for him this summer, while Tottenham Hotspur reportedly rejected the chance to sign the Argentine attacker.

Udinese have confirmed ‘various clubs showed interest’ in Rodrigo de Paul last month but insisted that ‘we were never close to selling him’.

Nonetheless, Udinese sporting director Daniele Prade said at a Press conference: “We were never close to selling him because we never opened negotiations.

“Various clubs showed interest, but having never opened talks with anyone we were never close to waving him off.”
