Udinese confirm their Serie A match with Atalanta will go ahead tomorrow, despite 12 players out with COVID-19, while TorinoFiorentina is on Monday and CagliariBologna on Tuesday.

The Friulani represent the biggest test of the new Lega Serie A protocol, because they are truly decimated by Coronavirus cases.

Another five people tested positive in the matchday group yesterday, taking the total to 12 players and three members of staff.

Their game with Fiorentina on Thursday was cancelled because the squad was under quarantine orders from the ASL (local health authority) for this outbreak, but the Lega Serie A won its appeal to the TAR (Regional Arbitration Tribunal) to declare the order an over-reach.

They want the match to go ahead with the new protocol, so as long as a club has 13 players available – including at least one goalkeeper – born after 2003.

Udinese have accepted that is the situation and confirmed tomorrow’s game with Atalanta will be played at 15.30 GMT at the Dacia Arena.

The situation is different for other clubs, who have negotiated and agreed to postpone their matches.

Torino vs. Fiorentina will be moved to Monday January 10 at 16.00 GMT, moved from the original Sunday 13.30 GMT kick-off.

Cagliari vs. Bologna will also shift to Tuesday January 11 at 19.45 GMT.

It was originally scheduled for Sunday at 13.30 GMT.

Bologna’s match with Napoli was scheduled for Sunday January 16 at 14.00 GMT, but has now moved to Monday January 17 and 17.30 GMT.
