“Today it is important to underline that so we can start a new journey that must get us points quickly. We understand the position of the fans and must now concentrate on the fact that we have the time to recover.
“The club reaffirms its faith in the coaching staff and the squad, who have not lacked for support and never will in future, and we are first in line to work with humility and decision.
“We will reaffirm the same concepts to our fans in a meeting that will take place by the end of this week.”
Patron Gianpaolo Pozzo also added his comments to the club statement.
“We heard the jeers, they were loud and clear. But I also read the technical analysis based on physical and psychological form, of preparation. Our current moment is not down to a single cause, but a series of connected issues, so it is the whole club that must answer for it.
“Now our directors have the duty of finding operational solutions that necessarily must come from within. We must unite, do the best we can, continue to give constant support to the Coach and players.
“Let it be clear, nobody is holding back here. We must all do our work: an apology is only fair, but achieving results is the objective.”
