Italy will probably face England in the Under-20 World Cup after finishing runners-up to Brazil in their group, beating the Dominican Republic 3-0 this evening.

The Azzurrini had beaten Brazil 3-2 in the opening fixture, then lost 2-0 to Nigeria.

They got the better of the Dominican Republic thanks to a brace from Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei, who is a product of the Inter youth academy and spent this season on loan at Reading.

Napoli-owned Giuseppe Ambrosino completed the 3-0 rout.

It means Brazil, Italy and Nigeria all finished on six points, in that order thanks to goal difference.

Italy go through to the knockout stages, where they are due to face the winners of Group E.

As things stand, that is likely to be England, who won both their opening matches, 1-0 against Tunisia and 3-2 with Uruguay.

That Round of 16 tie is scheduled for 22.00 UK time on May 31 in La Plata.

Casadei has now scored four goals in three games in this tournament.
