Paris Saint-Germain Coach Thomas Tuchel won’t confirm whether or not Edinson Cavani will start against Napoli – “we’ll see”.

The Uruguayan striker has been struggling with injury, so may not start on his return to the Stadio San Paolo.

“I can’t say, it’s Monday afternoon so I can’t say who will play,” Tuchel said in his pre-match Press conference.

“Cavani is with us and he’s trained, we’ll see later.”

It was then put to the German that PSG are favourites for the match tomorrow.

“You always say that we’re favourites, that Napoli are small or outsiders. We know it’s a huge challenge though, the 2-2 in the first game was well deserved. We could have done better but for 30 minutes we were not at our level.

“Napoli are a strong team, they’ve been playing together for a long time. They have understanding, quality and defensive discipline.

“It’ll be a big challenge but we want to win, this is the second half after the 2-2 in the first. We’re coming off two beautiful games against Marseille and Lille.”

Tuchel confirmed on Thursday that Gianluigi Buffon would start, and he was asked about the goalkeeper his fellow Italian Marco Verratti, who was caught drink-driving last week.

“Marco made a mistake, these things happen, but he played a great game against Lille,” the Coach noted.

“It wasn’t a professional thing but he’s young and we’re all behind him.

“Gigi and Thiago [Silva] will help us, Gigi already knows the stadium and the atmosphere and he’ll be a big help in the dressing room.

“We have confidence in Areola too, but Gigi is coming back from a ban and he deserves to play in Italy against a team he knows.

“I’m proud to have two goalkeepers who respect each other very much, it’s beautiful.”
