Former Juventus striker David Trezeguet says signing Cristiano Ronaldo would be a dream, and believes he can play alongside Gonzalo Higuain.

The Bianconeri are looking to a deal for the Portuguese superstar, with agent Jorge Mendes to meet Real Madrid today to see if they’ll accept the €100m offer.

“I’m not following the negotiation too closely, but for Juventus just the fact that Ronaldo is thinking of coming is significant,” Trezeguet, the club’s all-time top foreign goalscorer told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’m not following the negotiation too closely, but for Juventus just the fact that Ronaldo is thinking of coming is significant,” Trezeguet, the club’s all-time top foreign goalscorer told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We wait, but dreams can happen sometimes, and this is certainly one of the those.

“Should Higuain be sold to make way? It’s the choice of the club and the Coach, but I think great players can always play together.

“We’re talking about two great players who have already played together at Real Madrid. I’m for cohabitation.

“Would CR7 make Juventus Champions League favourites? It’s too soon to say, but they’re in the group of teams that can win it. They have the weapons and the mentality to do it.”

Gianluigi Buffon played alongside Trezeguet, and the goalkeeper has now moved to Trezegol’s native France.

“Gigi has made an important choice, he has the opportunity to experience and foreign league and he’ll manage it.

“He’s gone to a team that spends a lot and has very clear goals. The same as Juventus…”
