Gian Piero Gasperini has officially been given a touchline ban, so will miss Atalanta’s big match against Milan on Friday.

The coach was sent off during an ill-tempered 1-0 win over Bologna, in which he argued loudly with Sinisa Mihajlovic, but only Gasperini was dismissed.

According to the official report, he was dismissed for a second yellow card, having “vehemently protested” the first booking for dissent.

Gasperini isn’t the only one sitting out Friday’s clash, because Milan also have Ismael Bennacer and Theo Hernandez suspended after their accumulation of cards against Sassuolo.
