James Pallotta insists Francesco Totti “can still play an important role” for Roma, despite the forward’s 40 years.
Totti has been limited to the role of impact substitute this season, with his contract due to expire in the summer, but Pallotta made it clear the Giallorossi were still counting on the veteran.
“He’s shown that he can still play an important role in the games that are crucial for Champions League qualification,” he added to the club’s official website.

“I wouldn’t say that his new contract [back in June] was a reward for his performance. He wanted to keep playing and we thought that he could still make a contribution after talking to him and our [coaching] staff.”
