Tottenham Hotspur want to make a bid for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic even if Harry Kane does not leave, according to The Telegraph.

The same English newspaper also suggests Crotone forward Nwankwo Simy is another candidate, and his asking price is known to be €10m.

The Nigerian is 29 and is the cheaper alternative, but the first choice for director Fabio Paratici is definitely Vlahovic.

Spurs have long been interested in Vlahovic, but the need for a new centre-forward has escalated rapidly after reports Manchester City were ready to break the bank for Kane.

The Telegraph insists that even if Kane stays, they still want another striker who can play in support of the England captain.

Fiorentina are in advanced negotiations for a new contract with the Serbia international and want at least €60m for their forward.

He is only 21 years old, yet scored 21 Serie A goals in 37 games last season.
