Tottenham loanee Harry Winks has made his Serie A debut coming off the bench against Empoli at the Stadio Castellani.
The England midfielder joined Sampdoria on loan in the summer but struggled with injuries during the first part of the campaign.
An ankle injury kept him on the sidelines until tonight when Dejan Stankovic introduced him in the second half of a key Serie A match against Empoli at the Stadio Castellani.
Winks entered the pitch at minute 62, replacing Bruno Amione
Sampdoria were 1-0 down when the 26-year-old entered the pitch.
The Blucerchiati have an option to make his move permanent at the end of the season, but his stay at the club beyond the summer is uncertain.
Sampdoria are in the relegation zone and have only won two games in Serie A this season. Winks played 203 games with Tottenham scoring five goals. His contract in North London expires in June 2024.
Played well when he came on late in the game. Could be crucial in Samos fight for survival.
