Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte said he will watch top-four rivals Arsenal’s clash with Newcastle United on Monday as he loves to ‘suffer’.

His Spurs side beat Burnely 1-0 on Sunday to temporarily move two points ahead of Arsenal in fourth place, though Mikel Arteta’s side would retake the final Champions League spot with a win at St. James’ Park.

Asked whether he would be watching the clash in north-east England, the ex-Italy coach said: “For sure I will watch the game because I love football and I want to watch and I want also to suffer.

“But I think it is a big achievement for the last game to have the possibility to take a place into Champions League because I don’t forget our path since November and we will see what happens.

“I also think Arsenal did a really good job this season because they didn’t play in Europe and now they have a chance to play in the Champions League.”

Spurs were eighth when Conte took over as manager in November but Conte has led them into fourth place and secured wins over Manchester City and Arsenal, while his side also drew 1-1 at Anfield against Liverpool.

Tottenham’s Champions League destiny in our of their hands as rivals Arsenal will secure a top-four finish with two wins from their final two matches.

However, Spurs raised the pressure with their recent derby win and have a significantly better goal difference.
