They dominated from start to finish and Lorenzo De Silvestri broke the deadlock with a towering header from Alex Berenguer’s free kick.

Bologna thought they’d equalise when the referee awarded a penalty, having originally booked Simone Verdi for simulation before he viewed the incident again on VAR, but Erick Pulgar’s spot-kick was brilliantly saved by Sirigu.

Instead, M’Baye Niang doubled the Toro lead with a great solo effort, then Iago Falque completed the rout by nutmegging Giancarlo Gonzalez.
