Andrea Belotti was met with an unwelcoming message from Torino supporters as he made his first return to the Stadio Olimpico Grande since joining Roma last summer when the two sides met in Serie A on Saturday evening.

Supporters in the Curva Maratona section of the Torino stadium unfurled a set of banners shortly before kick-off with a damning message to their former captain.

The sign read: “We can’t insult you because they don’t let you play.”

Belotti has struggled to gain consistent minutes for the Giallorossi particularly in Serie A since moving to Rome upon the expiry of his Torino contract in August.

The 29-year-old was again named among the substitutes by Jose Mourinho for the game against Torino as Ola Solbakken was selected to lead the line for Roma.

Before this weekend, Belotti had racked up 632 minutes of playing time from 23 appearances in Serie A so far this season, averaging just over 27 minutes per game.

The former Granata striker is still in search of his first league goal for Roma, having only found the net on four occasions across the Europa League and Coppa Italia.
