Torino President Urbano Cairo assures he is “very proud” to see Angelo Ogbonna at Euro 2012 and will make “seven or eight quality signings.”

The 24-year-old defender is part of the Italy squad going to Ukraine and Poland despite the fact he plays in Serie B.

“I am very proud to have such a great Toro player and really nice lad in the Nazionale,” Cairo told Tuttosport.

“I hope he has a wonderful Euros and we all should be cheering on Italy, especially in such a difficult moment for our sport.

“As for Ogbonna’s future, my only desire is to keep hold of him. I will make the right investments to keep the Coach happy, as Giampiero Ventura did so well this season and I’m very happy to be continuing this adventure with him.

“Ventura’s new two-year contract is already prepared and we just need to deposit it with the Lega.”

Torino secured their promotion back to Serie A by finishing joint top of the table, losing out to Pescara only on their head-to-head record.

“Around 60 per cent of the squad is sure to remain at Torino and is a fundamental part of the project, then we need a few more players to make that step up in quality. It would be marvellous to finish in the top 10.

“We’ll sign seven or eight quality players to reinforce every area of the squad, all following Ventura’s suggestions. There will also be some overseas imports, but I won’t name them now, otherwise the bidding war will spark up.”
