Lucas Torreira is increasingly close to a Marco Giampaolo reunion at Torino, according to reports, with Arsenal ready to accept €24m.

The Gunners paid over €28m to sign him from Sampdoria in 2018, where he had already worked under the coach.

He has fallen down the pecking order in London and is looking for a return to Serie A, where he also played for Pescara.

According to Calciomercato.com and Tuttosport, Torino are getting closer to an agreement to purchase Torreira outright from Arsenal for €24m.

It would likely be spread out over two seasons, so a paid loan for €12m with obligation to buy at the end of the season for another €12m.

Fiorentina had also been interested, but pulled out to avoid sparking a bidding war.

In order to purchase Torreira, Torino are looking to sell Italy international defender Armando Izzo.
