Zenit St Petersburg have reportedly made an offer of €18m for Genoa’s Diego Laxalt.

The Uruguayan left-back enjoyed an impressive World Cup, helping his country reach the quarter finals of the tournament.

And TMW Web reports the Russian club have submitted an official offer for the 25-year-old, who has been at Marassi since 2015.

The Italian sports news website claims Zenit are proposing a fee of €18m, while the player would stand to earn wages of €2.5m-a-season on a long-term contract.

Negotiations between the clubs are said to have gone well, although the Rossoblu are thought to want to wait for ‘another two or three days’ before accepting the bid.

However, should no rival offers come in from big clubs around Italy and Europe, Genoa will give the green light to Laxalt’s proposed move to Russia.
