Ahead of Juventus’ visit from Lecce in Serie A on Wednesday evening, three statistics have been identified which could make for worrying reading for Bianconeri supporters.

Juve have endured a roller-coaster season on and off the pitch over the course of 2022-23 and results so far have failed to live up to the club’s usual high standards.

Whilst a home clash against the division’s 16th placed side could be seen as an opportunity to get back to winning ways for Massimilano Allegri’s side, the Bianconeri have slipped in recent games against newly promoted sides.

In fact, Juve have lost three of their last five games against Serie A newcomers, as many defeats as in their previous 85 games against teams who had been playing in Serie B the previous year.

Then, there are the issues in front of goal. Over their last six league games, Juventus have found the net on just four occasions. Only Empoli, Spezia and Lecce with three goals apiece have recorded a lower tally over the same period.

Having won four home games in succession in Serie A between February and the beginning of April, Juve went on a poor run of results and have now picked up just one point from their last four matches, including games played home and away.

The most recent league defeat came against champions-elect Napoli at the end of April. If Juventus are beaten by Lecce at the Allianz Stadium, they will have recorded back-to-back home losses in Serie A for the first time since March 2011.

The meeting of the two sides at the Allianz stadium is due to kick off at 17.00 UK time.
