Tuttosport praises Canada international Tajon Buchanan following his Inter debut on Friday, saying the Canada international showed ‘enterprising spirit, pace and fearless football.’

Buchanan was Inter’s only signing in the January transfer window. He joined the Nerazzurri on a permanent transfer from Club Brugge.

He had spent the first few games entirely on the bench but was introduced as a substitute in the final minutes of Inter’s comfortable 4-0 win over Salernitana on Friday. The 25-year-old played circa 15 minutes in his first-ever Serie A appearance.

Tuttosport journalist Simone Togna praised the Canada international on Sunday’s printed edition on page 12, saying he showed ‘enterprising spirit, pace and fearless football’ at San Siro on Friday.

According to the report, Buchanan’s physical tests immediately impressed Inter’s staff members, but Inzaghi waited for a few weeks before giving him his debut as the Canadian right-wing-back had played his last competitive game on December 10, 2023, and needed time to adapt to Inter’s tactics.

Buchanan spoke to Inter’s official website after his debut on Friday.

“It’s a dream come true. I couldn’t wait for this moment to arrive. I worked really hard to be ready and I’m so happy,” he said.

“Now, I need to continue down this path. I was on the left today but I can play in a lot of different positions. I’m adaptable and I want to help the team in a lot of ways. Ever since I arrived, the team’s helped me to adapt to our style. The staff, the coach and everyone has given me a fantastic welcome, so I’m really happy.”
