New Inter owner Erick Thohir has insisted that everyone at the club is ‘working together with the same aim’.

The Nerazzurri lost 1-0 to Lazio on Monday, with reports in the Italian Press suggesting that the Indonesian businessman had been critical of the team.

However, the billionaire has claimed that is not the case, and has reiterated his belief in the project.

"I read that my disappointment over our defeat yesterday was seen as a criticism of the team,” he told the club’s official website.

“It's natural to feel disappointed when you lose a match, but that's not the same as criticism. I'm as upset as anyone when we lose but we're all working together with the same aim.

“As for any technical analysis, that's for the Coach to make. I reiterate that winning or losing a game because of a single incident – when other incidents might have gone in our favour – will not alter our belief in this project.

“We will continue to work in the best interests of the team, the club and our fans.”
