Inter President Erick Thohir says a deal to bring Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic to San Siro is 90 per cent done.

The Serb is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer and the Nerazzurri have increasingly been favourites to sign him.

“I can’t saying anything other than the deal for Vidic is 90 per cent done,” Thohir told FcInterNews.it.

“When everything is sorted we will make an announcement.”

The Indonesian businessman then discussed his team’s current form.

“We have done well in the last two games,” he said. “The squad is in good shape at the moment, the team is more balanced and cohesive.

“Thanks to Walter Samuel the defence has become more solid.

“In football there are highs and lows, we must stay solid.

“Now is a good moment but I don’t want to put pressure on the players.

“I’m going to leave them to enjoy themselves and I hope we will get good results in the upcoming games.”

Thohir was then asked about new signing Hernanes.

“Before signing Hernanes our attack only had one option on the flanks, now we have another one through the middle.”
