According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Thohir had a long telephone conversation with Moratti this week to discuss a strategy.
The decisive game could well be next weekend against Mazzarri’s former club Napoli, as another embarrassing defeat would be hard to swallow.
It’s reported that Moratti would favour a dismissal, whereas Thohir considers that too hasty, especially considering the summer transfer strategy was based around Mazzarri’s system.
The Indonesian patron is also unconvinced by the alternatives, such as Walter Zenga and ex-Inter Coach Roberto Mancini.
