He spoke to journalists at the stadium and was asked what he said to Coach Walter Mazzarri in yesterday’s meeting.

“There are seven very important games to go and we need to get into Europe,” replied Thohir.

“We must go into every game to get three points. Do Mazzarri and I have the same vision? Of course.

“I spoke to everyone to help them forget Livorno. Serie A is not easy, as every game is difficult here, both at home and away.”

This weekend there have been reports of offers for Cruzeiro midfielder Nilton, Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel and Javi Garcia of Manchester City.

“We need a midfielder for next season, that is true, but we haven’t done anything yet and I will only name names after they have signed.”
