There was surprise on Monday when new Albiceleste Coach Gerardo Martino named his squad for the friendlies with Brazil and Hong-Kong and didn’t include the Juventus striker.

Tevez has enjoyed a blistering start to the season, with four goals in five games between Serie A and the Champions League, and his club Coach believes his form should have earned him a call-up.

“Tevez is doing great things, as he did last year. He deserves to be called up, but I’m not the Coach,” Allegri has considered to reporters today.

Juventus are not without representation in the Argentina side, as new signing Roberto Pereyra did receive a call.

“Pereyra is new to the national team, but he’s doing great things with Juve.”
