Vis Pesaro’s Andrea Tessiore has encouraged everyone to "stay at home" after the Sampdoria loanee tested positive for the Coronavirus when helping his infected neighbour. "Do it for the most vulnerable".

The midfielder on loan at Serie C club Vis Pesaro has revealed that he tried to help one of his elderly neighbours, who later turned out to have contracted the Coronavirus.

The 20-year-old, who has played 17 matches in Serie C this term, currently contracted to the Blucerchiati until June 2020 has also tested positive and tells his story.

“An elderly person, my neighbour, was not well. I went to see on her conditions. After two days I got a fever,” he told Tuttomercatoweb. “Then I found out that the lady had been hospitalised for the Coronavirus.

“On Monday I did the test and it came out positive.”

He went on to advice everyone to stay at home to protect the people “most vulnerable” to the virus.

“Let’s stay at home. All of us,” he added. “We young people underestimate it. The virus came to me, it can come to my other peers, but we don’t have to think about ourselves. We have to think about the elderly.

“Maybe we don’t have symptoms like the others. I want to tell the boys to stay at home, turn on the Playstation, watch movies, but don’t go out.

“Do it for you and above all for those who are most vulnerable.”

The Vis Pesaro youngster added that he still believes in a future at Sampdoria in Serie A.

“I came through the academy at Sampdoria, my dream is to go back and play for the Blucerchiati,” he said. “I believe I can.”
