Attilio Tesser wants “a performance of great intensity” from Novara to beat revamped Genoa this afternoon.

Both clubs have been through a similar experience in recent months, namely firing their Coach and then rehiring him.

Alberto Malesani was recalled to the Genoa bench this week, while Tesser had six weeks out during Emiliano Mondonico’s spell at Novara.

“We are facing a great team with enormous potential and excellent individuals. They are to be feared in attack with players like Alberto Gilardino, Rodrigo Palacio and Giuseppe Sculli.

“As far as we are concerned, we need to give it intensity for 90 minutes to whittle down the difference in quality, which means being aggressive for the entire match. This requires a performance of great intensity.

“When there is a change on the bench it is always a little traumatic for a team, but regardless of the Coach, we have to prepare the game and play it at 100 per cent.”
