Napoli star Fabian Ruiz is unwilling to extend his contract with the Partenopei and although Manchester City are interested in the Spaniard, they don’t want to negotiate with Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Fabian’s contract runs out in June 2023 and he is unlikely to extend his stay at the club. President De Laurentiis held talks with the Spain international in May, but didn’t manage to reach an agreement and the Partenopei must sell him in the summer to avoid seeing him leave as a free agent in one year.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Mattino, Fabian doesn’t want to extend his contract and, if he doesn’t leave in the summer, Napoli will keep him out of the squad as they did with Arek Milik back in 2019.

The Poland international refused to sign a contract extension with the club and was excluded from the team until January when he eventually joined Marseille.

According to Cadena Ser, Manchester City are among the clubs interested in signing Fabian, but the Premier League giants won’t negotiate with Napoli.

City and Napoli’s directors haven’t been on good terms since 2018 when they negotiated for a long time for Jorginho. The Italy international’s move to the Etihad Stadium seemed done, but Napoli eventually sent Jorgi to Chelsea, along with their ex-coach Maurizio Sarri.

Although Manchester City chiefs have urged club directors to sign Fabian, the Premier League giants seem willing to get the Spaniard only on a free transfer in one year, so they won’t need to negotiate with De Laurentiis.

  1. I rate fabian, but he is not a Man City type player, he doesn’t press. What are they gonna do with him?
I totally get why people don’t want to deal with adl though.

  2. Love it, PL’s richest team does want to negotiate with ADL.
Talk about chutzpah, this is a team that paid 129,000 pounds (transfer)for Jack grealish,3 goals in 26.appearances, Hilarious.
Can’t talk now, need to spend more money on overpaid midfielders and lose another Champions league playoff game.

  3. ADL is Shrewd not mean, by far one of the better owner in Europe fiscally responsible, consistently competitive every year inconsistently turns a profit every year not many big clubs can do that

  4. City need Fabian like a millionaire needs a penny…like they give a crap about ADL…LMFAO…
