The winger has joined the Viola on loan from Barcelona, but is hoping to stay at Artemio Franchi for the long-term.

“As soon as I heard about the interest from a club like this I decided to come here,” Tello said at his official presentation.

“I was playing for a club where I wasn’t getting many minutes. I’m very proud to have arrived in Florence. It was important to find a team that believed in me.

“I was happy at Porto at first, I was playing a lot, but then something changed. I came to Florence to find new opportunities.

“It’s very important for me to play in Italy at a big club like Fiorentina, Serie A is a big challenge for me. Fiorentina will fight for important objectives, I hope to stay here.

“This is a tight-knit team and I’d like to thank everyone for the way they welcomed me and how they helped me blend in.

“I can play on the right or the left, the Coach [Paulo Sousa] will decide where to play me.”

The Viola have also been linked with a move for defender Marc Bartra, who has made just three La Liga starts for Barcelona this season, and Tello would like the centre-back to join him.

“I often speak with him, he’s a friend of mine but he hasn’t spoken about the idea of Fiorentina.

“He complimented me for arriving at Fiorentina, I think he’s a top player who would be helpful to Fiorentina.

“I think Barta is someone who needs to play and feel important to the team. I think it’s a step he should take for his career.”
