Cristian Tello has landed in Italy, as he prepares to return to Fiorentina from Barcelona.

The winger spent the second half of last season on loan with the Viola, but the arrangement expired on June 30.

Tello’s agent has already admitted his client “only wants Fiorentina”, and this morning it was reported that he’d arrive in Florence for medicals.

That has now been confirmed, as Gianluca Di Marzio’s website carries photos of the 24-year-old in the airport, with the player telling fans “I’m very happy to be back”.

In terms of the structure of the deal, it’s thought Tello will arrive on a season-long loan with a buyout clause of around €7m or €8m.

It’s also likely Barça will retain a counter-option allowing them to buy him back at a later date for an agreed fee.

Tello made 15 Serie A appearances during his previous spell with the Viola, scoring twice and providing four assists.
