The Lazio President was recorded telling a director from Lega Pro side Ischia Isolaverde that Carpi or Frosinone being promoted would jeopardise Serie A tv money, prompting a furious response from Carpi.
Lotito is on Tavecchio’s advisory board, but the President assured that promotion will only ever be decided by league position.
“The FIGC guarantees that changes of League are decided by results on the pitch, and only that,” Tavecchio is quoted as saying by ANSA.
“There cannot be, and there are not calculations of any kind. Any other considerations are unacceptable.”
