After the heated exchanges between Conte and Fiat Group President John Elkann, Tavecchio released a statement to Ansa.

“Because of an unfortunate accident, a whole case has been mounted that disturbs the Azzurri's national team.

“Antonio Conte is a great professional, who works for the good of all of Italian football.”
