FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio has requested a minute’s silence ahead of Italy’s friendly with Romania on Tuesday, following the Paris attacks.

The world of football has come together in solidarity with France following terrorist attacks last night – including at the Stade de France – which killed over 100 people.

“I’ve already asked UEFA to precede the match between Italy and Romania with a minute’s silence,” Tavecchio told ANSA.

“This was a serious attack on the community, on the citizens, and it’s inevitable that questions will be raised about this tragedy.

“Politics has to play its part, with regard to the Federation, we express our deep and heartfelt solidarity with France, with the victims and with their families.”
