Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has confirmed the club’s interest in Genk midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and thinks a deal could be struck this week.

It was reported this morning that the Biancoceleste had a €6m bid for the Serbian Under-20 World Cup winner rejected, but Tare believes an agreement is close.

“Yes, we’re following this player,” Tare said to Indeksonline.it.

“Yes, we’re following this player,” Tare said to Indeksonline.it.

“The project of our team is suited to him and I believe that in a few days we can make an official agreement.”

Arsenal and Manchester United are believed to be amongst the clubs who have mamde enquiries about the 20-year-old, who has a contract running until 2019 with the Belgian club.
