“There are many reasons for us to believe we can do it, as the tie is not over,” the director of sport told Sky Sport Italia.
“I would’ve preferred to play this game with a full squad at our disposal, but we’ll nonetheless attempt to beat the odds and turn this around.
“You need good luck in these tournaments, as last season at this time we didn’t have all these injuries, even with the same training regime and fixture list.
“I don’t think this is a decisive match for the season. The important thing is to play the way we know how and try to go all the way in every tournament, then we’ll see if results arrive.”
