Speaking to DAZN before the match, Tare was asked why the only approach made in the January transfer window was for Chelsea striker Giroud.
“We evaluated the situation, this squad is competitive and we only tried to bring in another forward during the final days of the window because of some injury concerns. That is all.”
Joaquin Correa is currently out of action, so Felipe Caicedo is the only alternative partner to Ciro Immobile.
