Lazio sporting director Igli Tare believes his side deserve Champions League football for their efforts this season.
The Biancocelesti will seal their return to Europe’s elite if they at least draw this evening’s do-or-die clash with Inter, who will leapfrog them with a win.
Speaking at the Stadio Olimpico, the Albanian added Simone Inzaghi’s team had enjoyed a ‘fantastic’ campaign.
“The day has arrived to crown a fantastic Lazio season,” Tare commented.

“We didn’t want this match with Inter, but a season like ours deserves to be rewarded with fourth place and some joy for our fans.
“It would be recognition of an important growth for the team, both from an image and an economic point of view.
Stefan De Vrij has been included in the Lazio line-up this evening, despite the fact he is leaving to join Inter this summer.
“He needs to respect his contract and his teammates, as well as the four fantastic years he has spent here.
“From tomorrow, we will wish him all the best in the world in his new adventure.”
Tare was also asked about the future of leading scorer Ciro Immobile.
“He has a long contract with us. It will be a long summer full of surprises.
“Lazio will definitely have a very strong team next year as well.”
