The Azzurri beat Hungary 1-0 in October 2001, then Belarus 4-3 in October 2004 and eventually Cyprus 3-2 in October 2009.

Curiously, that clash with Cyprus was also the last competitive Italy match with Fabio Quagliarella in the starting XI.

He provided two assists, as Alberto Gilardino bagged a hat-trick.
