Inter assistant manager Sylvinho admits Serie A is tougher than any other League, but they “can win the Scudetto.”
The former Barcelona and Arsenal man was brought in to join Roberto Mancini’s staff and spoke to the Corriere dello Sport for his first Italian interview.
“Football is different in every country, but your League is certainly more tactical compared to the other nations I’ve worked in and consequently every week you have to work hard on that. In Serie A you can’t underestimate anybody.

“Mancini is one of the best tacticians in the world, as Roberto likes his teams to play good football and keep possession. We’re working on that in this pre-season camp too. I like that attitude of building from the back. Roberto loves football and wants to win with style.
“I’ve been fortunate in my career, as I’ve worked with Coaches like Frank Rijkaard, Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger. You can’t get better than that. I took something from all of them, but it’s impossible to make comparisons or put them in order.
“Mancini is a winner and I am sure he won’t fail at Inter this time round either. We’re still missing something in the squad, but the directors are doing a great job and I’m sure someone else will arrive.
“I think we can win the Scudetto and hope to do well in the Coppa Italia too,” continued Sylvinho. “I expect a great campaign, especially as we’ve already laid the foundations in recent months.”
The biggest new signing of the summer was Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco.
“I already knew he was great and he’s confirming that in training. I’ve been fortunate enough to play alongside some excellent midfielders. In physical terms, he reminds me of Patrick Vieira and Yaya Toure.”
