Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke 04 could interrupt Alessio Cerci’s 18-month loan at Milan.

The winger is still owned by Atletico Madrid, but joined the Rossoneri in January as part of the Fernando Torres switch.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Cerci’s future could well be in the Bundesliga.

He struggled for playing time in Serie A too and does not seem to have any place in the squad under Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Cerci turns 28 later this month and is attracting interest from German sides Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke 04.

They could agree to take on the remaining 12 months of the loan, thereby getting his wages off the Milan books.

Cerci’s former Torino teammate Ciro Immobile has just left the Bundesliga, as Borussia Dortmund sent him on loan to Sevilla.
